FlagHarry's Pirates Tales

Harry

Harry was bored.  After an exceptionally warm fall, in early November, it finally turned cold, with days in the 30's and nights in the teens.  This made Harry restless with a new energy, but the hop plants that would calm the restlessness had died back and the toads which would add some excitement, had long since decided it was too cold. He  needed an adventure!  Harry thought adventures on the high seas and tales of buried treasure sounded pretty exciting, and NH was still flooded from the October rains. He could sail from his own yard right to the high seas!  He needed a ship and a crew; Harry would become a Pirate!

Fortunately, Harry just happened to wake from an afternoon nap one day and found a seaworthy vessel in the yard!  The first thing to do was christen it!  (Note: Harry did not realize this meant he needed a name for his ship, so if you have any suggestions for him, please send them along...Of  course, if he doesn't like your suggestion...it might mean the plank!)

Ship

After the ship was thoroughly...um, christened, Pirate Harry got the word out that he needed able bodied seamen to sign on.

One of the first to sign on was that black dog, Joe.

Joe

Wishful

Foster pirate Wishful, was initially rejected because of her name.  She was later signed on when Pirate Harry was told that she sometimes went by the name Wee Wee. (What he didn't know was that Wee Wee did not refer to poor house manners but that she had earned the nicknamed after it was said she cried wee, wee, wee all the way home.)

Pirate Harry's days were not all filled with buried treasure. There was unrest after pirate Rex was appointed cook and spent all his time in the galley eating the rations.

Harry

Pirate Harry dealt with Rex, but still the rumblings continued because of crowded conditions.

Pirate Harry had a long talk with Wee Wee and told her what would happen to her if she didn't straighten out.

Wee Wee

Wee Wee was very concerned and hid out in the mates quarters.

Black dog Emma tried to recruit Lucy to take over the ship with her.

Emma lets Butch in on plans.

Joe passes on the final details of the mutiny to Butch.

Emma

Somehow, their plans are thwarted.  Emma...

...and then Joe are made to walk the plank!

Joe

Butch

It was Butch who always admired Pirate Harry and wanted to be just like him!

We find out Rex is also faithful to Pirate Harry.  It also turns out that Rex was once named Wrecker!

Rex

Cat

Pirate Harry signs on a few more cut throats, including a pirate so nasty he goes only by the feared name CAT! Cat was said to have once attacked a large group of dogs and sent black dog Joe to the ER.

Lucy helps raise the colors for the ship.  Pirate Harry knew Lucy once thought of joining black dog Emma, but it was her Gottcha Day and he didn't want to have to share his treasure.

Harry

Finally, the ship's flag is flying and Pirate Harry is on his way to buried treasure and high seas adventure!

Pirate Harry's parrot, Rummy, takes a rest after a long day's adventure!
